EEK at the GREEK is Spooktacular event for the family and a great way to introduce the arts to the kids. This event is run by volunteers, who are thrilled to be there most of them dress up to keep things festive and the children happy.
Before the show begins The Greek Theatre transforms the front plaza into a safe trick-or-treating area with activities for the kids. Kids can enjoy face painting, a cupcake decorating station, Free churros for kids and adults and take pictures in the photo booth to remember all the fun for years to come!
Children's hospital booth (The main sponsor) handed out tips on Halloween safety along with
band-aids and sunblock and of course no station was complete without Candy!!!
The costume contest began on the front plaza stage and the grand prize winner was crowned on the main Greek Theatre stage. During intermission after The Symphony in the Glen had entertained us with their EEK-lectrifying Tunes. The Grand prize winner was an Elvis who Thanked the audience with a "Thank you-Thank you Very Much!" (Elvis Style) and then it was on to the Heart pounding reading of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" read by Bruce Boxleitner. The reading was EEKIE! & The accompaniment of the symphony just made it EEK-Credible! It's such a great Halloween Event
