C.O.D. Restaurant is the C.O.Y

C.O.D. which stands for Catch Of the Day is my Catch Of the Year. This is the newest restaurant on 3rd Street they are neighbors to Joans on Third, Toca Madera, and so many more. My visit to COD was outstanding for starters the service was excellent - Amanda is a Rockstar and the food spectacular! The dishes are Asian Inspired California Cuisine influenced by Villages of China and California with a focus on incredibly fresh seafood and let me assure you that it is, but their technique and and their take on old favorites is what really won me over. The uni pasta is out of this world delicious the noodles are made in house and you can immediately tell at first bite that you are not eating boxed pasta. They have a nice chewy texture and the flavors are so perfect with a slight hint of truffle that doesn't over power the dish. The beef cheeks are so melt in your mouth tender and served on a bed of quinoa that's cooked polenta style so freakin good! The kale and quinoa salad sounds simple right? Don't skip it may sound simple but it's the greatest kale salad I've had - the passion fruit vinaigrette really makes it special .

I honestly can't remember the last time I truly enjoyed a meal this much and I am very much looking forward to going back! Treat yourself to this place you'll love it! And if you love a smokey Mezcal cocktail ask Sydney the bartender for the "Black Paloma" cocktail - it's off menu made with muddled blackberries and smokey Mezcal. It's perfection!
